Title: Account Manager (Water)

[Position Purpose]

The Account Manager is responsible for the profitable growth and service of customers in his/her territory. The successful Account Manager develops and implements improvements in customer operations driving retention and enhanced margins for the division and partners with the Corporate Accounts and Senior sales teams to gain new customers.

[Accountability Objective]

Works independently using expert sales and application knowledge to increase sales and provide effective technical service to major accounts within the district.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Exhibits proven performance of taking key PAC accounts from the competition as defined by the operating group (i.e. PAC-2 and PAC-3 for the Water & Waste Treatment Division).
• Assists in district troubleshooting within other territory customer applications and stabilizing jeopardy
district accounts.
• Works with all levels of sales, marketing, research, district and customer personnel and management to
develop and maintain current and new business, support corporate policies, and develop the team
spirit.
• Successfully sells and maintains major accounts defined by the group. Effectively "quarterbacks" the
overall sales efforts for major target accounts (i.e. sales plans, coordination of staff and resources).
Develops sales plan and completes quarterly and business reviews.
• Effectively calls on, and establishes business and social relationships with customers and prospects in
the accounts assigned for management. This includes establishing business relationships with prospect
and customer top management.
• Demonstrates a sales call to close ratio better than group standards.
• Assumes leadership role, assesses account stability and needs, and takes required action to maintain
the business.
• Participates in the Quality process in the selling and servicing of accounts.
• Provides customers with expert technical service in all major applications. Establishes role as an
authority on new technical developments and shares technical knowledge with customers to enhance
their operations and satisfaction with the company.
• Participates in field tests and market studies to assess current business situations and new product
opportunities and provides customers with written results and recommendations.
• Clearly knows the sales trends along with the strong and weak points of competition within their
territory and regularly reviews this with the District Manager.

[Preferred Qualifications / Required]

• Chemistry/chemical engineering BA degree
• 7+ years of Industry experience
• English language skills
• Industry experience
• Excellent planning, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently, under pressure, and with little direction
• Customer service orientation with consultative selling aptitude
• Technical understanding (e.g., chemical)
• Driver’s license
• Experience working with and knowledge of computers (e.g., MS Office suite)
